BAYRIDGE COTTAGE

The owners of a 1970 era house wanted to expand the footprint of the house to accommodate a larger living space on the 1st level and a master bedroom suite on the second level. At the same time they wanted to address the imposing scale of the house's mass. The added 2 story pavilion and front porch along with the exterior detail brought texture and depth to the house that created a warm inviting approach.

The site was reconfigured to pull the driveway away from the house and create a vehicular parking area with a winding front walk that engaged the trees and landscape which act as a buffer to the street.
